Grazing on Ashes

Climate disruption crisis is a moral crisis. Rev. Douglas Olds will discuss humanity’s failure to act as God’s trustee of Nature, specifically the atmosphere. He will give examples of his own lifestyle changes as spiritual practice. He will link spiritual fellowship with stewardship of the Earth and to the virtue of living a reduced carbon lifestyle.

Rev. Douglas Olds is a Presbyterian Church (USA) ordained minister. He is currently a Doctor of Ministry Candidate at San Francisco Theological Seminary working on decarbonizing initiatives and theology for churches and faith-based institutions. Doug grew up in Michigan and attended a Unitarian church as a youth. He went to the University of Michigan and then graduate school in Environmental Policy at the University of Maryland where he worked as a Research Fellow in Ecological Economics and Global Warming. He lives in Mill Valley with his two school-aged sons, Rowan and Evan. You can access his blog on theology, spirituality, preaching, and living a reduced carbon lifestyle at www.douglasolds.blogspot.com
