We UUs are a unique breed, put off by much of the rituals and creeds of more traditional religion. But that doesn’t mean we’re not religious, as deeply and authentically religious as anyone else who might make the claim. Even when we have differences our commitment to our UU faith, as one minister has put it, “brings us out of our isolation, out of our selfish concerns … to join ourselves to something greater, to become a part of a community that is working to practice love and to dwell together in peace … to find better ways to live our lives…. This is sacred, religious work.”
