Lately it seems that everywhere reactionaries claim to promote “freedom.” Freedom to discriminate, to exploit, to insult; even to claim free speech rights while pushing ‘don’t’ say gay’ legislation. How did this happen? And what can we learn from two key holidays in our culture? Both, at their core, are about the human longing for authentic, respectful freedom for all. To worship is, in part, to “re-member.” Come! Let us put the pieces of our human unity back together!
