Abraham Solar has served for 20 years as the Pastoral Director at St. Vincent’s Catholic Church in Petaluma, where his work with the area’s Latino population has earned him the respect and admiration of many. As a key Latino leader in Petaluma, Sr. Solar has not only attended to the pastoral needs of the parishoners of St. Vincent’s but also has built community and advocated for the rights of Latinos and immigrants in Sonoma County. A founder and tireless organizer of El Dia de los Muertos Petaluma, Sr. Solar also dances in and leads Ballet Folklorico Paquiyollotzin, a professional Mexican folkoric dance group. At our UUP service, Sr. Solar will share with us his motivation and passion for community building and activism.
