Updated COVID Policy from the Board of Trustees

Unitarian Universalists of Petaluma

January 29, 2023

Mitigations taken by UUP to increase safety in our building:

  • Air purifiers will be strategically placed to increase air ventilation throughout. In an abundance of care and caution for our community and using science as our guide, UUP recommends wearing a mask indoors.
  • Please follow all posted signage and protocols we have in place for the good of our community.
  • Hand sanitizer and extra masks will be available at the greeting station.
  • All bathrooms will be stocked with soap, paper towels, and hand sanitizer.
  • Please wash your hands.
  • COVID rapid tests will be available immediately prior to the service if needed.

Outdoor Services & Work Parties

  • Masks are optional outdoors. Indoors, masks are recommended for all people 2 years of age and older when gathered in groups.

Decision to Pivot to Online Service and when to return to In Person Service

These times are calling us to continually engage with the circumstances at hand and to make discernments in support of the common good as best we are able. Our collective wisdom is a great resource in helping us navigate the complexities that arise as we figure out how to function as a community during this time of pandemic.

Guidance from the UUA (https://www.uua.org/pandemics/gathering-guidance) and information from CovidActNow.org as well as information from the Sonoma County COVID Dashboard (https://socoemergency.org/emergency/novel-coronavirus/coronavirus-cases/) and the California Dept of Public Health informs the UUP Board of Trustees when making decisions regarding COVID Policy changes.

If you have any questions or concerns about the UUP COVID Policy please feel free to reach out to the COVID Team at wellness@uupetaluma.org and/or the Board through botUUP@gmail.com

These policies and protocols will evolve based on local, state, and national public health mandates; our local rates of transmission; direction by the UUA; and our assessed community needs.
